Safex Instruments Product Warranty Policy

Safex Instruments Limited provides a limited warranty for explosion proof devices, covering defects in materials, design, and workmanship under normal use, when operated in accordance with the user manual, safety instructions, and applicable service conditions provided with the product.

Warranty Coverage:

  • Products: 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • Battery: 6 months from the date of purchase.

Warranty service is applicable only upon presentation of a valid proof of purchase (invoice) that includes the product serial number or IMEI number.  During the warranty period, Safex Instruments Limited’s obligation is limited exclusively to the repair or service warranty of defective components. At Safex Instruments Limited’s discretion, replacement may be fulfilled with a functionally equivalent service device or refurbished unit.

The standard warranty period is twelve (12) months from the date of original purchase, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Repairs or service warranty during the warranty period do not extend or restart the original warranty duration.

  1. Warranty Scope and Limitations

The warranty is limited to repair or warranty service (at our discretion) of defective parts by authorized service personnel only.  Warranty services will be provided only by Safex Instruments Limited or its authorized service centers. Any repair, modification, or disassembly by non-authorized personnel shall immediately void the warranty.

Replacement may be fulfilled with functionally equivalent refurbished or service exchange units.

This warranty does not extend the original warranty period or initiate a new warranty period.

Warranty claims must be made within the applicable period.

  1. Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not apply to damage or defects resulting from:

  • Normal wear and tear (e.g., scratches, abrasions, fading).  Normal wear and tear, including consumable parts such as batteries or external, unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship.
  • Accidental damage including but not limited to drops, impact, crushing, or liquid ingress.  Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, or failure to operate the device as intended, including disregard of the user manual or safety instructions.
  • Use of the product in a manner inconsistent with the Operating Manual and Safety Instructions.
  • Use of accessories, batteries, or chargers not approved by Safex Instruments Limited.  Use of the product in combination with non-approved accessories, chargers, batteries, or software.
  • Unauthorized modification, alteration, or repair attempts.
  • Failure to follow proper storage or charging procedures.
  • Exposure to extreme environmental conditions beyond the device’s IP rated protection (including dust, moisture, chemical exposure, or temperature extremes).
  • Software malfunctions due to network changes, virus attacks, or third party applications.  Software upgrades or changes in network parameters requiring device reconfiguration.
  • Damage from power surges, lightning, fire or other acts beyond our control (force majeure).  Damage due to incorrect installation, improper ventilation, mechanical shock, or failure to comply with safety standards.
  • Any damage caused by accidents, natural disasters, force majeure, or environmental conditions beyond rated specifications, such as:

Liquid ingress beyond IP rating

Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, or high humidity

  • Damage caused by overcharging, or improper use of the battery or charger
  • Use of the device outside of its certified Ex Zone classification, or unauthorized attempts to modify it to meet regional standards.
  1. Important Disclaimers
  • Data Loss: Safex Instruments Limited shall not be held responsible for any loss, corruption, or inability to recover data stored on the device. Customers are advised to back up all important data regularly.
  • Unauthorized Repairs: Warranty is void if the product is opened, repaired, or serviced by any party not authorized by Safex Instruments Limited.
  • Tampering: Removal or defacement of serial numbers, IMEI numbers, warranty seals, or product labels will render the warranty void.
  • Devices where the IMEI number, serial number, or warranty label is altered, removed, or illegible.
  • Any tampering with battery enclosures or protective seals.
  1. Customer Responsibilities
  • The customer must inspect the goods immediately upon receipt. Any obvious damage or defect must be reported in writing within 24 hours of delivery. Failure to do so may affect the warranty claim.
  • Proof of purchase must be provided when making a warranty claim.
  1. Limitation of Liability
  • Safex Instruments Limited’s liability under this warranty is strictly limited to the terms outlined herein. Under no circumstances shall Safex Instruments Limited be liable for:
  • Indirect or consequential damages.
  • Downtime or loss of productivity.
  • Loss of data or software.
  • Any claim exceeding the purchase price of the product.

Safex Instruments Limited shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of business, revenue, or data, arising from or in connection with the use or inability to use the product, even if Safex Instruments Limited has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Safex Instruments Limited’s liability under this warranty is strictly limited to repair or warranty service of the defective unit, as outlined above.

  1. Legal Rights

This warranty does not affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable national laws. However, to the extent permissible by law, all other warranties, express or implied, are excluded.

This limited warranty does not affect or restrict any statutory rights the customer may have under applicable local or national laws, nor any contractual rights against the original seller of the device.

  1. Service Replacement Policy

Any device or part replaced under warranty may consist of new or refurbished components. Replaced products or parts become the property of Safex Instruments Limited.
